Hispanics Fed Up With 'Operation Return To Sender'

File Suit, Claim Feds' Tactics Violate Fourth Amendment

(CBS) MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. Hispanics on Long Island and in Westchester County are suing to stop immigration raids. They claim the raids -- known as "Operation Return to Sender" -- are being conducted illegally.

Agents from ICE -- Immigration and Customs Enforcement -- have been raiding homes and businesses for months, targeting fugitive illegal aliens facing deportation, usually for criminal convictions.

One pre-dawn raid last March brought "ICE" to Mount Kisco. Agents swept through apartments at 165 Main St.

"There were over 20 people that were taken, and then within a few days let go," Carola Bracco said.

One of those arrested told this community activist he was going to fight back, and he has, joining a lawsuit targeting ICE agents and their tactics.

The lawsuit claims ICE agents knowingly use outdated information as they search for fugitives, and end up raiding homes where they are not likely to find the fugitives they're looking for.
